This role is based within the Assisted & Automated Driving Team in the Electrical Engineering department focussing on the System Integration and System Testing for all Assisted & Automated Driving Systems (ADAS & AD) utilizing XIL (Anything In the Loop) methods and test environments.
The successful candidate will be involved in delivering stat-of-the-art (virtual & real) engineering tools, lead the XIL Test Environments Development, Delivery and XIL Test Execution with cross-functional teams to produce test evidence for Engineering Sign-off of all Assisted & Automated Driving Features.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Your role will be to provide strong Leadership and Strategic for System Integration and System XIL Testing and sign-off for the all AAD systems onto vehicle platforms. You will develop and own the strategy for XIL based Integration and Test of all ADAS Systems and components to all JLR vehicles alongside System Test Leads and XiL Technical Specialist, and support for XIL Engineers: skills development, training selection and planning, resources allocation, problem solving support and coaching, performance feedback and suggestions. You manage ADAS Level 3, Level 4 and AAD VITAL test rigs, specification, functional issues, test plans.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience


  • Proven technical expertise and experience of test facility and test part preparation.

  • Proven ability to influence and manage people, an energetic & tenacious manager who can drive delivery in support of JLR business needs.

  • Experience in project management with a record of proactive delivery and commitment to meeting deadlines.

  • Strong IT skills with significant experience of using XIL tools such as CANape /Vehicle Spy/ INCA/Simulink/IPG CarMaker/CANalyser/CANoe/TestStand/VeriStand/LabVIEW

  • Technical and practical knowledge of integrating components into vehicles


  • Experience of working managing health and safety regulations , reporting and monitoring compliance

  • Experience of leading teams and providing technical advice and guidance

  • Experience and certification for driving on proving grounds.

  • Six Sigma, Black Belt and Green Belt Training.

  • Educated to Degree level in a Systems, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic or related field
