Welcome to Career Night 2020. The event is a collaboration between Linnéstudenterna, Linnaeus University and Videum Science Park. Together our aim is to better prepare you for a future career in Sweden/the region.

Our event consists of lectures and information related to working in Sweden after graduation. Meet official representatives as well as international PhDs and alumni students that will share their career stories. The event is open to all international students at Linnaeus University and is free of charge. We will provide lighter food and water to drink. The restaurant is open for those who want to buy other beverages. Maximum number of participants is 100 students.  

Participating speakers are:

*Stefan Uppman, Videum Science Park.

* Tuva Holma, EURES adviser from the Swedish Public Employment agency (Arbetsförmedlingen). Her talk is about how to find jobs and where, give insight into current labour market statistics, share valuable info on workers’ rights and obligations on the labour market etc.

* Madelene Svaleklev & Hanna Berkesi from the recruitment company Maxkompetens.

* Shqipe Gashi Nulleshi & Romain Herault, both international PhDs about their academic careers. How to apply for a PhD position, funding but also cultural aspects of the process of doing a PhD in a foreign country.

* Silvia Anderchen, international alumni student now working in the region.

*Avijit Kuri, international alumni student about his entrepreneurial journey that started when he came as a student to Linnaeus University.


During the evening you will also be able to mingle with some of the speakers, companies and exhibitors. The exhibitors are:

*Drivhuset. Drivhuset supports students with business ideas and arranges events for anyone with an entrepreneurial mindset.

*LNU Career. The career-and study advisers Fanny Elheim and Emma Krig from the office of Student Affairs at Linnaeus University will be present to inform what services are available.

*AMÅR fair. AMÅR is the biggest work fair at Linnaeus University happening on March 4.

*Unionen. Unionen is the biggest trade union in Sweden on the private labour market and the largest white-collar trade union in the world. 

*VIS, Växjö International Students. All about volunteer positions within the Erasmus Student Network.

Linnéstudenterna, the student union. Get info on what it is like as an international student to join the student union board.

The companies attending are: Fortnox, IST, Happy at work, Adatype and Linné Innovation.

During parts of the evening the VR-room as well as the Innovations Lab will be open with guides/instructors.

This event doesn’t include a company fair. Instead we refer to AMÅR 2020, Info about this fair will be provided at our event.

If you sign up, and later cannot make it, please log into My Career again and choose won't participate. If you need to cancel your seat after the deadline has passed contact the organizer at directly.

If you chose Swedish as nationality when creating your profile at My Career the confirmation email will be in Swedish.
